International Advanced Calcium Chloride Production Process in CaCl2 Flake Plant
I. Brief Introduction
The atomized solution is sprayed into the fluidized bed granulator, and atomized droplets directly touch with the fluidized material layer (crystal nucleus layer). Before dehydration, the droplets adhere to the surface of crystal nucleus, and form local infiltration layer. Meanwhile, the relatively tiny powders adhere to the local infiltration layer, of which the water is removed gradually. Because of water removal, the powder and droplets become lamellar and adhere to the surface of crystal nucleus. So the crystal nucleus become larger and larger, with this process repeated. In the fluidized bed granulation area, the crystal nucleus is adhered to water droplets constantly, crystal nucleus impact with each other, and water removes gradually, all these make the granules grow bigger gradually, layer by layer, and in uniform, also synchronized with the evaporation of the water. So, this method ensures the uniform and compact structure of the granules, also increase its intensity. Its working principle is mostly accumulated coating granulation, few is reunited granulation.
II. Working Principle and Production Capacity
The raw material is calcium chloride solution. In the whole production process, the major indicator of production cost is energy consumption. After atomized by the spray gun, the calcium chloride solution is touched with the high temperature hot air directly in fluidized bed. The drying touch area is increased more than 1000 times after liquid atomization, and intense heat and mass transfer improve thermal efficiency greatly, and also reduce cost. This technology is the best design of calcium chloride granulation.
Different process, equipment layout and model will have influence on the drying effect, product quality and stability of operation, so it has special requirements on the selection and configuration of drying equipment. This system fully considers the poor fluidity of dry and wet material, designs specially on feeding method of fluidized bed, air distribution plate structure, classification of hot air chamber, air distribution adjustment, operation and observation and so on, to simplify the operation and ensure the stable and continuous running of drying system. For the small amount of dust generated in tail gas, it will be collected by concentrating tower with two-stage spray layer, then discharged to the liquid storage tank for storage, or directly into the fluidized bed granulator when to a certain concentration. Finally, the clean air is discharged into atmosphere.

III. Features
A. Set spray, drying and granulation in one, make granulation realized in one step.
B. Parallel flow way of spray drying is adopted, so that heat sensitive materials can be easily operated.
C. Two stage drying methods: use spray drying and fluidized bed drying, so the water content can be very low.

IV. Key to Continuous Working
Continuous fluidized bed spray granulation technology can realize 30 days trouble-free continuous running. The following three tasks must be done to ensure continuous running.
1. Establish a good state of initial fluidization. Unique advanced air distribution plate design provides the premise for combination of liquid and solid with well-proportioned.
2. Unique spray gun provides a micro granulation process for combination of liquid and solid with well-proportioned.
3. Accurate automation process control. PLC or DCS control system is adopted.
V. Energy Saving and Environment Friendly
The positive pressure gas hot air furnace is chosen as the heating source. It can reduce the powder consumption. Instead of the high-temperature relay high-power fan in the negative pressure gas furnace, it chooses the normal temperature supply fan. This can extend the service life of the fan, with small power of draft fan.
As to the waste heat utilization of flue gas exhaust (150-160ºC), the waste heat and calcium powder from the spray tower can increase the calcium chloride concentration. The solution enters into the granulator after the temperature reaches to 60ºC. It will reduce power consumption. The exhaust gas temperature is about 80ºC, and the discharge quantity reduce almost 30%.
For the exhaust gas from the system, it is further washed through the exhaust dust removal tower, and reaches to the environmental protection standard. When the temperature is reduced to 60ºC, it will be discharged to the air.
